Tests

For registration in the admission process, applicants shall present the related documents in the notice available on the program’s website and published in the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo.

The applicants will be evaluated through a Written Test in English regarding their capacities of scientific reasoning and interpretation of results; Curriculum Vitae Analysis, with an interview; and Oral interview of the research project, aiming to identify the knowledge related to the topic presented.

Applicants with a final average of seven or higher may be accepted into the program upon the availability of an advisor.

Applicants for the direct doctorate shall prove previous experience in scientific initiation (preferably as fellows) and publication of at least two complete works in international journals, preferably as the first author.

Applicants residing outside the state of São Paulo or abroad may take the tests at the place of origin, as provided in the Deliberation-PPGNCC-06/2019-procedures for taking distance tests available at the http://pgneuro.fmrp.usp.br/pb/Program/normas/. When registering, applicants must formalize the interest by sending, also, Annex I of the resolution.

General Information

Admission to the program will be through an admission process, standardized by a specific notice prepared by the CCP and published periodically in the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo and on the program page on the internet. The admission process notices will specify the number of vacancies, the procedures and list of documents required for registration, the list of documents required for enrollment, the steps of the admission process, the schedule of the admission process, the evaluation items, grades, topics, bibliography, and weight of each of the evaluation items.

Doctors without residency in Neurology or professionals in other areas may enroll in the area of Neurosciences, as long as they are approved in the placement test, up to 2 (two) years before the enrollment. More information on this test is available at: http://pgneuro.fmrp.usp.br.

Foreign language proficiency

As provided in section II of the Program Regulations, to register in the admission process of Master’s, doctoral, and direct doctorate programs, applicants must prove proficiency in English, as follows:

TEAP, TOEFL, IELTS, ALUMINI, Cambridge, and Michigan proficiency exams will be accepted, taken up to five years before the applicants’ enrollment date in the admission process.

The minimum grades for acceptance of the exams will be disclosed in a specific notice of admission process on the program page on the Internet and in the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo.

Other equivalent exams may be analyzed by the CCP upon the applicant’s request.

No proficiency in the Portuguese language will be required for foreigners.
